Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Elects New Leadership Team in Landmark Election

The apex socio-cultural organization of the Igbo people, Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide has successfully concluded its national elections, ushering in a new executive leadership team.

The election, held at the Old Government Lodge, Abakiliki Road, Enugu, marks a pivotal moment in the organization’s history, as Senator John Azuta Mbata emerged as the new President General.

The announcement, made by Chief Agbeze Ireke Kalu Onuma on behalf of the Election Committee’s Media Team, confirms that Senator Mbata will succeed Nze Ozichukwu, signaling a fresh chapter of unity and progress for the Igbo nation.

National Publicity Secretary: Dr. Ezechukwu Ezec

National Legal Adviser: Barr. Okeagu Ogada

The event was attended by notable figures, including the governors of Abia, Anambra, Imo, and Enugu states, all of whom emphasized the importance of unity in Igboland. Although the Governor of Ebonyi State was absent, his Deputy represented him, underscoring the broad significance of the occasion.

In his acceptance speech, Senator John Azuta Mbata expressed deep gratitude for the trust bestowed upon him and pledged to prioritize Igbo unity, economic advancement, and political inclusion. He vowed to work closely with leaders and stakeholders across Nigeria to champion the cause of the Igbo people.
