Horror in Anambra as Three Children Found Dead Inside Freezer

By Okey Maduforo

Tragedy struck in Nnewichi village, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, as three children were found dead inside a freezer in their home.

The children’s parents had gone to work, leaving them at home, only to return and find them missing. After a frantic search, their lifeless bodies were discovered inside the freezer in their rented apartment.

The deceased children, a boy aged 5 and two girls aged 7 and 9 were allegedly murdered and placed inside the deep freezer by unidentified assailants.

The victims, identified as Ejezie Chikaime Daviana (9), Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica (7), and Ejezie Chimdilim David (5), were at home when their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, a lecturer and nurse, left for an examination on the fateful day.

Upon her return, she noticed the house was wide open; an unusual occurrence, as the children always locked the door in their parents’ absence.

The father of the deceased siblings, Mr. Ejezie Udochukwu, who resides in Irrua, Edo State, recounted the tragic moment he received the devastating call from his wife.

“My wife told me that after searching for the kids with a search party to no avail, she opened the deep freezer in despair and found their lifeless bodies inside,” he lamented.

“We live in a bungalow with two tenants and the landlord. The kids were eating when the attackers stormed the house at about noon, as traces of food were found in plates that appeared to have been abandoned in haste.”

The corpses have been deposited at a morgue, while the police at CPS Nnewi have launched an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, the compound where the incident occurred has been sealed to aid investigations.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochikwu Ikenga stated that Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered the case to be transferred to the State Investigation Department for further and more detailed inquiry.
