UNIEC world wide hails Senator John Azuta-mbata’s election as president General Ohanaze ndi-Igbo, urges him to promote Igbo unity

The United Elders Council (UNIEC) has extended its warm congratulations to Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his emergence as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organization representing the Igbo people worldwide.

In a letter signed by the group’s Director General, His Lordship, Justice Alpha Ikpeama, the council lauded Senator Azuta-Mbata’s leadership capacity and commitment to the collective interests of Ndigbo. The UNIEC expressed confidence that his tenure would mark a new chapter of unity, progress, and strategic engagement for the Igbo people both at home and in the diaspora.

The council emphasized the urgent need for unity among Ndigbo, urging the newly elected President General to prioritize reconciliation and bridge existing gaps across various Igbo communities and leadership structures. The elders also tasked him with fostering stronger collaboration with South-East and South-South governors to ensure the adequate provision of security and economic development within the region.

UNIEC further noted that in this era of heightened national and global challenges, Igbo leadership must rise to the occasion by championing policies that promote business growth, technological advancement, and infrastructural development in Igboland.
