Senator Uche Ekwunife has extended warm felicitations to Catholic women across Nigeria on the occasion of Mother’s Day, lauding their rare commitment to faith, family, and societal development.
In her message, the distinguished lawmaker described Catholic women as indispensable role models whose lives embody the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, discipline, and moral uprightness. She noted that through their devotion to God and dedication to their families, they continue to shape the moral fabric of society and raise generations anchored on strong values.
Senator Ekwunife emphasized that Mother’s Day is not only a time for celebration but also a moment of reflection on the critical role women play in nurturing homes and sustaining communities. She called for renewed focus on strengthening family bonds, stressing that the family remains the bedrock of any progressive society.
The Senator further urged Catholic women to continue to imbibe and uphold the teachings of Christ, particularly love, humility, patience, and selflessness, which she described as essential virtues for building a more just and harmonious society.
She encouraged them to deepen their spiritual commitment and remain steadfast in their role as pillars of faith and moral guidance.
“Your commitment to raising God-fearing children and promoting peace and unity within families is invaluable. At a time when societal values are increasingly challenged, your example as mothers and devout Christians is more important than ever,” she stated.
She also called on all mothers to take deliberate steps in guiding their children with sound moral instruction, emphasizing the need to instill discipline, respect, and reverence for God in the younger generation.
Senator Ekwunife concluded by praying for God’s continued blessings upon Catholic women and mothers everywhere, urging them to remain resolute in their noble calling and continue to inspire positive change within their homes, the Church, and the wider society.
