Barr. Donald Amamgbo, has felicitated with Christian fathers on the occasion of Father’s Day, commending their sacrifices and calling on Nigerian leaders to demonstrate greater compassion towards innocent citizens affected by the activities of non-state actors across the country.
In a goodwill message released on Sunday, Amamgbo praised fathers for their steadfast commitment to family values, describing them as the bedrock of society and critical partners in nation-building.
According to him, fathers have continued to make enormous sacrifices to provide hope, moral guidance, and stability for their families despite prevailing economic and security challenges.
The legal practitioner and philanthropist noted that the celebration should also serve as a moment of sober reflection for those entrusted with leadership, urging them to prioritize the protection of lives and welfare of citizens.
He expressed concern over the plight of innocent Nigerians trapped in the hands of non-state actors and those displaced by insecurity, stressing that leadership must be defined by empathy, justice, and commitment to the sanctity of human life.
“Just as fathers labour daily to protect and provide for their families, those occupying positions of authority should demonstrate the same sense of responsibility towards the people. Nigerians deserve security, compassion, and the assurance that every life matters,” he stated.
Amamgbo further encouraged Christians and fathers to continue to uphold the virtues of faith, love, discipline, and sacrifice exemplified by Jesus Christ, adding that strong families remain the foundation of a peaceful and prosperous nation.
He prayed for God’s blessings upon fathers and urged Nigerians to remain united in the pursuit of peace, justice, and national development.
