Ignore the Noise, NDC Is Still in the Race — Victory Is Assured, Says Sam Chuks Okpanduka

The candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Awka South II Constituency, Sam Chuks Okpanduka, has assured party members, supporters, and residents of the constituency that the party remains on the ballot and is fully prepared for the forthcoming elections despite ongoing legal disputes.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Okpanduka thanked the people of Awka South II for their continued support, prayers, and confidence in the party’s vision of providing quality representation and people-centred governance.

He urged supporters not to be discouraged by recent court proceedings involving the party, insisting that the NDC remains united, focused, and committed to participating in the elections while pursuing all lawful means to resolve the legal issues.

According to him, the party has every confidence that justice will prevail, adding that the NDC remains determined to offer Nigerians a credible political alternative.

Okpanduka noted that political resistance is common whenever a movement begins to gain widespread public acceptance, stressing that the party’s leadership has demonstrated respect for democratic institutions by seeking legal remedies rather than taking actions capable of undermining democracy.

He called on supporters across Awka South II Constituency to remain calm, united, and focused, while ignoring rumours, propaganda, and misinformation intended to create confusion among voters.

The NDC candidate reaffirmed his commitment to restoring the people’s voice in governance through effective representation and the delivery of meaningful democratic dividends to every community within the constituency.

He also expressed optimism over the growing acceptance of the party across the wards, saying the increasing momentum would translate into overwhelming victories for the NDC in the elections.

Okpanduka further appealed to party members and supporters to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and continue mobilising eligible voters, emphasizing that democracy flourishes when citizens actively defend their constitutional right to freely choose their leaders.

He concluded by expressing confidence that the current challenges would only strengthen the resolve of the party, urging supporters to remain hopeful and united.

“The journey towards accountable and people-oriented leadership remains unstoppable. Together, we shall protect our votes, defend democracy, and, by the grace of God, secure victory,” he stated.
