Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, has extended her warmest felicitations to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on the occasion of his 58th birthday anniversary.
Senator Ekwunife described Professor Yilwatda as an accomplished technocrat, academic and public servant whose remarkable journey has distinguished him among Nigeria’s emerging generation of political leaders.
She noted that his career, spanning academia, engineering and ICT, electoral administration, humanitarian service and national party leadership, reflects an uncommon depth of experience and commitment to public service. Professor Yilwatda previously served as an INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and was elected APC National Chairman in 2025.
Ekwunife particularly commended his leadership of the APC, noting that since assuming office, he has prioritised reconciliation, unity, institutional strengthening and the rebuilding of confidence within the party. He was re-elected National Chairman at the APC’s 8th National Convention in March 2026.
According to her, Professor Yilwatda’s combination of intellectual capacity, administrative experience, technological expertise and political maturity places him in a distinctive class of Nigerian party leaders.
“At 58, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda has built an impressive legacy of service across academia, technology, electoral administration, humanitarian affairs and politics. His emergence and performance as National Chairman of the APC further demonstrate his capacity to provide purposeful leadership at a critical moment in our nation’s political development.
“I celebrate his courage, intellect, humility and commitment to service and pray that Almighty God grants him continued wisdom, good health and strength to contribute even more to the development of our party, Anambra State and Nigeria,” she stated.
