Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the family of slain Awka entertainment personality, Aiza Nwosu, describing his killing as a senseless, barbaric and heartbreaking act that cannot be justified under any circumstance.
Ekwunife, who met the deceased’s widow and his female children during the visit, described Aiza as “the people’s general,” saying the late entertainer touched numerous lives through his work and brought happiness to countless people across Awka and beyond.
She said the news of his death remained difficult to comprehend, particularly given his vibrant personality and immense contribution to Awka’s social and entertainment scene. “There is no problem that demands somebody’s head. There is no dispute that cannot be resolved. Absolutely no situation warrants taking another person’s life” she said.
Reflecting on the inevitability of death, Ekwunife added: “Everyone must die. Those who killed him will eventually die too. So, what is the justification for such a senseless killing?”
She said the fact that Aiza would no longer be seen entertaining people was “a huge shock,” stressing that his impact on the community through his profession would not be forgotten.
Moved by the family’s loss, Ekwunife consoled the widow and her daughters, praying that God would give them the strength and fortitude to endure the painful tragedy and grant the deceased eternal rest.
