The APC Candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District and Zonal Director Election Planning, Coordination, Monitoring / Mobilisation of APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, FCNA, has commended the South-East Coordinator of the Tinubu Support Group (TSP), Sir Paul Chukwuma, for mobilising women, youths and party stakeholders from across the five South-East states for a rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Senator Ekwunife, who spoke at the gathering, described the event as a significant demonstration of political mobilisation and appreciation of President Tinubu’s administration, while expressing gratitude to Sir Chukwuma for committing his resources and energy to advancing the interests of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

She recognised the Anambra State APC Chairman, Senator Emma Anosike, who was represented by his Deputy Chairman, J.C. Okeke. She also acknowledged the presence of the Anambra State Coordinator of TSP, Chief Ekene Enefe, alongside party members and stakeholders who attended the rally.

According to Ekwunife, the scale of participation from Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states underscored the level of coordination behind the gathering.

“Today is a very special day. It is a day we have gathered to endorse and appreciate God in view of the victory awaiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, by January 2027,” she said.

She praised Sir Chukwuma for mobilising a large number of women and youths, describing his involvement as noteworthy because he was not seeking an elective political office.

“We cannot appreciate Sir Paul Chukwuma enough for mobilising the number of women and youths like we haven’t seen politically in recent times. This is the first time someone who is not running for any political office would deploy his energy and resources to mobilise massively for the interest of his party, the All Progressives Congress,” she stated.

The senator added that the mobilisation reflected Sir Chukwuma’s commitment to the party, which she attributed partly to his appreciation of the Tinubu administration’s achievements.

Ekwunife also stressed the importance of communicating government policies and programmes to Nigerians, noting that political support should be informed by the administration’s record and the impact of its initiatives on citizens.

“Obviously, when you want to sell a product, you must convince prospective buyers regarding the value of your product. Today, we want Nigerians to return President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on account of his lofty achievements,” she said.

Highlighting some of the programmes of the Federal Government, Ekwunife pointed to improvements in the payment of civil servants’ salaries and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which provides eligible students with access to financial assistance for their education.

She also drew attention to massive road projects across the country, the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, which is designed to provide financial support to vulnerable households.

Under the programme as described in her remarks, eligible households receive ₦25,000 monthly for three months, amounting to ₦75,000 per household, with the initiative targeting 15 million vulnerable households through the National Social Register.

The senator’s remarks focused on the need to publicise government interventions and explain their intended benefits to citizens, particularly in education, social protection and workers’ welfare.

In their separate speeches, the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the APC, Dr Benjamin Obi Nwoye, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dr Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CFR, expressed appreciation to Sir Paul Chukwuma for organising a rally of such magnitude in support of President Tinubu.

Both leaders also acknowledged Senator Ekwunife’s participation and her role in coordinating political activities within the party, noting her involvement in party engagements before her current senatorial aspiration.

The gathering brought together party leaders, coordinators, women, youths and other stakeholders from across the South-East in an event focused on support for the Tinubu administration and the APC’s political activities ahead of the 2027 general election.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion included the Member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife; the APC candidate for Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha Federal Constituency; as well as other prominent party candidates and key stakeholders of the party from across the South-East zone.
